Fort Monroe National Monument

A warm “Huzzah!” to Commander Eric Kirk of James D. Brady Camp #63 for organizing yesterday’s event. Conducted by a Fort Monroe Authority guide, the walking tour focused on the fort’s history in the Civil War and included a visit to the Casemate Museum, where the cell that briefly held Confederate President Jefferson Davis after the war has been preserved. Brothers and spouses from across the Department attended this excellent event.
